California’s Central Coast is surrounded 360 degrees with gorgeousness.
On the west, you have Pacific Ocean vistas as far as the eye can see, while on the east, you can’t escape these verdant rolling hills (pictured above). Let’s not forget about the wineries, lazy beach towns, art enclaves, and caught-that-morning seafood, of course!
I just arrived back from a heavenly three day trip to this area, and I’m still coming down off the sunshine, wildflowers, and fresh ocean air.
Lots more pictures and details to come… but here’s a peek at how I spent my time there.
Leisurely strolling downtown San Luis Obispo, admiring the San Luis Obispo Misson of Tolosa and street art, and lounging at my own private Avila Beach (not really private, folks, but certainly empty on a weekday!)
Driving up the scenic highway 1 to tiny Cayucos Beach, imagining the glamourous days of Old Hollywood at Hearst Castle, spotting Elephant Seals at Piedras Blancas, and fine dining at the delicious Artisan restaurant in Paso Robles.
Soaking in the sun at Pismo Beach, touring the wineries during Zinfandelfest in Paso Robles, taking in the view at Daou vineyard, and savoring a piece of the famous Pink Champagne cake from the Madonna Inn.
Oh yeah, did I mention the fish tacos?
I just can’t get over how lovely and relaxing this mini-vacation was! Have you had a great short getaway lately? Check back for more of this trip… I can’t stop gazing at the photos of this place!
